Koenigsegg recently released official images of the CCGT1. Built upon the platform of the Koenigsegg CC850, the new model pays homage to the CCGT—a GT1-class race car originally unveiled at the 2007 Geneva Motor Show. Although the original CCGT demonstrated immense competitive potential during testing, it never made it to the track due to changes in racing regulations. Koenigsegg aims to leverage modern technology to transform the CCGT1 into the world’s first road-legal GT1-class supercar. It will be powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine capable of delivering a maximum output of 1,600 horsepower when running on E85 fuel.

The CCGT1 features a completely redesigned exterior. The headlight clusters house three individual light units paired with daytime running lights positioned beneath them, creating a sharp, aggressive look. Brake cooling ducts are located below the headlights, and a lightweight aerodynamic package is integrated into the front bumper.
The vehicle features scissor doors and a two-seat cockpit layout with an ultra-low seating position. Its dimensions measure 4,478 mm in length, 2,058 mm in width, and 1,160 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,700 mm. The standard ground clearance is 100 mm, but an adjustable suspension system allows for a 50 mm lift to improve drivability in everyday conditions. The fuel tank capacity is 72 liters.
The cockpit utilizes a carbon-fiber monocoque structure, achieving a torsional rigidity of 65,000 Nm/deg to ensure exceptional vehicle responsiveness. The CCGT1 employs double-wishbone independent suspension at both the front and rear, featuring integrated adjustable hydraulic dampers that allow for dynamic ride-height adjustment.
In terms of braking, the CCGT1 is equipped with ventilated carbon-ceramic discs—measuring 408 mm in diameter at the front and 390 mm at the rear—paired with six-piston front calipers and four-piston rear calipers, delivering formidable stopping power. The wheels feature a center-lock design and are made of lightweight alloy; the front wheels measure 20 inches and the rear wheels 21 inches. They come standard with Pirelli P Zero R tires, with an option for P Zero Trofeo RS semi-slick tires.
The Koenigsegg CCGT1 is equipped with an active rear wing offering three modes: low drag, air brake, and high downforce. It generates up to 800 kg of downforce at 250 km/h, significantly enhancing handling performance. Additionally, the vehicle features a comprehensive aerodynamics package—including a roof air intake, wheel arch diffusers, a front air dam, front and rear brake cooling ducts, and side skirt winglets—to optimize aerodynamic balance.
Regarding safety, the CCGT1’s carbon-fiber cockpit integrates crumple zones and is equipped with four airbags, a digital warning system, and a tire pressure monitoring system. Optional track-grade racing seats and fire suppression systems are available; paired with six-point harnesses, these features meet the safety demands of aggressive track driving. The vehicle comes standard with the KES electronic stability control system, offering four driving modes: Comfort, Wet/Snow, Sport, and Track.
Inside, the cabin features leather or Alcantara upholstery with high-contrast stitching, blending sportiness with luxury. Practicality is ensured through features such as a 360-degree surround-view camera system, front and rear parking sensors, and a close-proximity collision warning system. The multimedia system supports Apple CarPlay and includes USB ports and wireless smartphone charging.

As for the powertrain, the CCGT1 is equipped with Koenigsegg’s in-house developed 5.0L V8 twin-turbocharged aluminum engine. It utilizes a flat-plane crankshaft, dual overhead camshafts, and a dry-sump lubrication system. The engine features a 9.0:1 compression ratio, a 92mm bore, and a 95.25mm stroke, along with individual cylinder pressure sensors and ceramic ball-bearing turbochargers. This engine delivers a maximum output of 1,280 horsepower using standard gasoline, while achieving 1,600 horsepower and a peak torque of 1,500 Nm when running on E85 fuel. It is paired with a 9-speed LST transmission featuring an integrated KSS sequential shifting mechanism and a KED electronic differential; paddle shifters come standard across the entire lineup.
